Statement

All of my art is my own original creation and predominately queer-related. My interest in creating this type of art stems from my love for queer people and especially transgender people. Being both queer and trans, I know how hard it can be to live openly in our society. I have experienced the bigotry, oppression, and violence first hand.

I believe it is important to shed as much light as possible on inequality as well as show the integrity, courage, beauty, and love of our people. It has been my experience with the queers I have known (and from our LGBTQ heroes past and present) that queer people are some of the most honest, compassionate, loving, and wonderful people in the world. We are not all good or all bad, we are just human with our own struggles, hopes, dreams, and desires. And it is for you most of all, beautiful queer people, that I create and dedicate my art. I hope that my art will honor you and bring you joy.

In Honor of Being Queer. 2019. 15 x 20. Watercolor.
